The Library Panel contains the content for the site's web pages. This content primarily consists of HTML pages, graphics files, and the associated Style Sheets and JavaScript. This panel also allows files, and folders, to be moved and renamed.

The Library Panel contains the information that you want to incorporate into your site.
It should be noted that dragging a file out of the Library will not remove it. Content always remains in the Library unless you explicitly delete it.
The following operations are available in the Site Panel:
Dragging a file from the Library and dropping it into a Processing
Folder (
) in
the Site or Template panels causes that content to be
processed by the generator associated with the Processing Folder.
Typically, this results in the contents of the dropped file being added
to the page associated with the folder. The label with the folder some
idea of what it does...
Note: Dragging a file out of the Library Panel leaves the file in the Library directory tree, and moves a copy out. This is different from the Template Panel which does not retain a copy of the moved file.
Move the file from one folder to another. The file can be dropped in a blank area of the file list, a blank area of the generator list, or on a folder. If the ctrl button is held during the move, a copy action will occur instead.
Note: Dragging a file out of the Library Panel will leave the file in the Library directory tree, and moves a copy out. This is different from the Template Panel which does not retain a copy of the moved file.
Double-clicking on a file opens the file in the associated view application. (This can also be done by right-clicking on a file and selecting the Open option.) Note that many types of files will not be recognized, and will not be opened.
Right-clicking on a file brings up a popup menu. Selecting the Edit option causes the file to be displayed in the edit application associated with that file type. Note that some types of files will not be recognized, and will not be opened.
Note: Any time you edit a file by an external application you must
press the Refresh Links (
) button before manipulating the file with Synthesis.
Failure to do this may result in some of the links being lost. Should
this happen, re-drop the source files into the incorrect pages.
Right-clicking on a file brings up a popup menu. Selecting the Delete option causes the file to be deleted. If the deleted file is linked to other files, the appropriate actions to fix things up will be taken automatically.
Files can also be deleted by selecting them, and then pressing the Delete key.
Right-clicking on a file or folder brings up a popup menu. Selecting the Rename option causes the file to be brought up in a file window where it can be renamed. If the renamed file is linked to other files, the appropriate actions to fix things up will be taken automatically.

Open a directory tree that is outside of the Library. While this is permitted, it should be avoided in most cases. Synthesis tracks links that refer to files within the library. This allows us to maintain links automatically. We cannot do this for arbitrary files dragged in form other areas of the file system. The preferred approach is to use the Import Panel and import the files into the Library and drag them from there. |
|
Refresh the trees. This button causes the re-scan of the file system, and the updating of the trees. This is used when new files are placed within the directory by an action outside of Synthesis. |
|
Re-scan the web pages and update the tables that track which pages point to which. This button should be used anytime you believe that a web page changed from actions outside of Synthesis. |
|
Re-scan the web pages and look for potential graphics rollovers. If any are found, the rollover popup will be invoked, so that the rollover image can be identified. |
