The Site Panel contains the web pages that make up your site.
The pages containing Generators provide Processing Folders (
) where content can
be dropped onto the page. This panel also allows files, and folders, to
be moved and renamed.

The Site Panel contains the web pages that will make up your site.
It should be noted that dragging a file out of the Site will not remove it. Content always remains in the Site unless you explicitly delete it.
The following operations are available in the Site Panel:
Page updates are accomplished by dropping files into a Processing
Folders (
),
invoking the generator associated with the file. Typically, this results
in the contents of the dropped file being added to the page associated
with the folder. The folder's label should provide you with some idea of
what it does...
Note: Dragging a file out of the Site Panel will leave the file in the Site directory tree, and moves a copy out. This is different from the Template Panel which does not retain a copy of the moved file.
Double-clicking a generator button (
) causes the associated generator to execute the action
defined by the button. Typically, this results in some type of cleanup
action, or a final processing step intended for the completed page. The
button's label should give some idea of what it does...
Move the file from one folder to another. The file can be dropped in a blank area of the file list, a blank area of the generator list, or on a folder. If the ctrl button is held during the move, a copy action will occur instead.
Note: Dragging a file out of the Site Panel will leave the file in the Site directory tree, and moves a copy out. This is different from the Template Panel which does not retain a copy of the moved file.
Right-clicking on one of the Processing Folders (
or
)
brings up a popup menu with a Reset option. Selecting this
option causes the reset action to take place. These actions reset the
page back to an initial state. Resetting the main folder (
) resets the whole page,
while resetting sub-folders (
) only resets those parts.
Double-clicking on a file opens the file in the associated view application. (This can also be done by right-clicking on a file and selecting the Open option.) Note that some types of files will not be recognized, and will not be opened.
Right-clicking on a file brings up a popup menu. Selecting the Edit option causes the file to be displayed in the edit application associated with that file type. Note that many types of files will not be recognized, and will not be opened.
Note: Any time you edit a file by an external application you must
press the Refresh Links (
) button before manipulating the file with Synthesis.
Failure to do this may result in some of the links being lost. Should
this happen, re-drop the source files into the incorrect pages.
Right-clicking on a file brings up a popup menu. Selecting the Delete option causes the file to be deleted. If the deleted file is linked to other files, the appropriate actions to fix things up will be taken automatically.
Files can also be deleted by selecting them, and then pressing the Delete key.
Right-clicking on a file or folder brings up a popup menu. Selecting the Rename option causes the file to be brought up in a file window where it can be renamed. If the renamed file is linked to other files, the appropriate actions to fix things up will be taken automatically.

Refresh the directory and file trees. This button causes the re-scan of the file system, and the updating of the trees. This is needed when new files are placed within the directory by an action outside of Synthesis. |
|
Search the site's directory tree, and remove files that are not linked any longer. At this time, this is limited to Graphics, Style Sheets, and JavaScript files. |
|
Re-scan the web pages and update the tables that track the hyperlinks. This button should be used anytime you believe that a web page changed from actions outside of Synthesis. |
|
Re-scan the web pages and look for potential graphics rollovers. If any are found, the rollover popup will be invoked, so that the rollover image can be identified. |
